Even as the Delhi police  remained vague about the exact status of the lockdown of venues, sources claimed the complete lockdown of the Commonwealth Games venues was more or less complete by Saturday midnight. The latest item Delhi Police has planned to procure as part of its preparations ahead of the Commonwealth Games  has baffled some of its own officials. According to an order dated August 4, Delhi Police has asked for 667 while-coloured shirts and pants for policemen who will be deployed inside the Games stadia. With the delay in Commonwealth Games projects, the work to put in place security measures for ensuring smooth conduct of the event is also getting delayed. The stadia, practice venues and housing projects will now be handed over to the police only by September 15. Less than 60 days are left to go for the Commonwealth Games 2010, and apart from charges of corruption, the inability to complete housing projects is turning out to be another cause of concern for the government. It is now learnt that nearly 1900 out of 2700 flats, meant to house technical staff of the games, are far from being complete.
